Lovers

A Sonnet by DarkEyes
In darkest velvet shades beneath the trees,
The dancing shadows of the night at play,
With sighs of angels heard in rustling leaves,
Entwining with the silver moonlight, sway
To join the stars upon the milky way.
As silent whispers of the jasmine's scent
Invades the air, its cloying sweetness stray
To tantalize and sparks the embers lent,
While glowing passion of desire to rent.
Intoxicating rapture far beyond
The midnight skies with bursting breaths lay spent
Till dawn with dewdrops kiss a true love's bond.
And with the morn the rising sunrays find
Two sleeping lovers tied in heart and mind.
